  • Mar 24, 2020: “ The recent trip found us in nearly daily snow(not my wife's favorite) but great lifties, good grooming, and wonderful lift service. On mountain dining still a bit on the high side, but packing your own sandwich, and getting abeverage (plus the free water) keeps you going.” 0
  • Mar 16, 2020: “We had only been to Whistler Blackcomb once some years ago (and there was very little snow), so decided to give it another try. (More generally go to Banff). We ordered 3 day lift tickets online, and then got our Epic Pass our first day of skiing - it is an electronic card that has your purchased lift tickets downloaded on it. You just keep it in your left pocket, and it gets scanned as you get on the initial gondola/lift. It seemed to work well. The first day we tried the Whistler Village Gondola, about a 1/2 hour ride. We also tried Blackcomb, taking the Excalibur Gondola, Excelerator Express Chair and the Jersey Cream Express chair. Also went between the mountains on the Peak to Peak - however it was so cloudy we couldn’t see anything. Stopped in at both the Roundhouse Lodge and the Glacier Creek Lodge - both were nice, with lots of decent food choices. While we were there, there was lots of good snow and the runs were well groomed. Unfortunately for us, as only occasional and “fair weather” skiers, each day the light was flat, the fog rolled in until we could not see the slope in front of us, so had no idea where we were going. All we could do was follow other skiers and hope for the best. There was lots of heavy, wet snow so visibility was bad. At the end of the last day, exhausted and wanting to download to the village on the Whistler Village Gondola, it was closed for some problem, so had to take the Peak to Peak back across to Blackcomb, and then 2 more gondolas to get back down. However, what runs we could see during the sunny breaks did seem good, trail markings pretty clear. All the staff were helpful and pleasant. The village itself is great, so convenient to get to the lifts each morning from the hotel. Love being able to walk around the village, not needing a car. ” 1
  • Mar 15, 2020: “This is our first visit to Whistler and initial impressions were good. We had a couple of good days skiing and the mountain was in really good condition and the standard of skiing from people was generally of a good standard, which can’t always be said of some resorts, especially in Europe. Unfortunately, just as we were getting to know our way around, when corona virus struck and the authorities shut the mountain and our 14 day holiday was cut short by 8 days and we had to return back home. A real shame, and whilst disappointing, understandable. Feel sorry for the casual staff in the village who I assume will now be out of work.” 2
