  • Apr 30, 2020: “Having been skiing in the Alps many times I was surprised at how accessible this resort was in comparison to other ski resorts. We were actually staying with family in Kelowna and originally had no intention of visiting Big White, however they booked a place for the weekend and seeing as it was no more than a 40 minute drive from Kelowna we were more than happy to go! If you were arriving at the airport (YLW) it would probably take no longer than an hour, and the route up is perfectly fine (unless there has been extensive snowfall). The chalet we stayed in was excellent and the staff keep the paths and general area very well maintained; clearing paths before sunrise and ensuring everything is clean. The village is very nice as well, we ate at Snowshoe Sam's which had good food and good service, and we visited the Village Centre in the evening for a children's event as we were with family, and they were serving popcorn and candy floss free of charge, and had plenty of free entertainment for the kids. In terms of skiing, there appeared to be a great number of routes all easily accessible via the chairlifts, and plenty of instructor-led classes where any ability is welcome and can practice and learn. We went tubing which was great fun and very relaxed while still being safe which I greatly enjoyed! The snow depth when we visited (early March) was also beyond adequate, there were no bare-patches/dirty-snow etc. This is a ski resort I would certainly like to return to in the future, both for the skiing and entertainment aspect, but also because the staff (most of whom seemed to be Australian) were awesome.” 0
  • Mar 17, 2020: “We had planned a really fun spring break trip to Big White based on recommendations from my wife's co-worker and the kids were really stoked to go (as were we). Then, Covid-19 happened. About a week before our trip was scheduled, the Prime Minister of Canada essentially closed the border. If we were to go into Canada, we would be subject to a 14 day self isolation period. I'm not complaining about that. I completely agree with it and applaud his efforts. That being said, it effectively made our trip impossible. Big White's cancellation policy is basically once you are inside 30 days of your stay, it becomes non-refundable. Being that most companies are responding well to the pandemic and modifying their cancellation policies, I was hopeful that Big White would be willing to work with us. I was prepared for them to only offer to transfer our reservation to next year (which was one of the options they gave), but to my surprise, they also offered a FULL REFUND. Big kudos to Big White. I would also like to add that this communication happened through email and their response times were in MINUTES. Fantastic communication. We will do all we can to go next year.” 1

Staff is from all over the world (mostly New Zealand it seems), but everyone is friendly and helpful. Its a huge place and you really need few days to truly enjoy it. The lift tickets are cheap in comparison to other places out there and conditions were amazing. If you ski or board, this is a must!! We stayed at one of the condo's at the resort and they are amazing.. ski to the front doors and everything is easily accessible. Lots of restaurants and bars, lifts were not busy but the snow..... such a great time.” 2
