Open May to October Ride on an operating Heritage Railway. We are open Saturdays and Sundays May through October, from 9.30am until the last train returns at 4.00pm. Come out and see what we have to offer and go for a ride on the train.

Explore a choice of six Vancouver neighbourhoods or three Victoria neighbourhoods. Vancouver sites include Chinatown, historical Gastown, trendy Yaletown, contemporary Downtown, lively West End and Strathcona, the first neighbourhood in Vancouver. Victoria explorations include the Fort Victoria, Chinatown and James Bay, former home of famed Canadian artist Emily Carr. Each jaunt covers roughly 3 kilometres and lasts up to two hours. Tours are appropriate for children and accessible by wheelchair. Public tours are regularly offered in July and August. Contact us about private tour availability.

The Yale Historic Site encompasses several properties in the town of Yale. A heritage building built in the 1870’s, the ‘Creighton House’ is home to our museum, gift shop, archives and Beth Clare garden. Indoor exhibits include artifacts and photographs showcasing the diverse history of Yale. Outdoor exhibits include a ‘Tent City’, showing life during the gold rush of 1858 and St John the Divine, built in 1863, one of the oldest church’s in BC. The Ward Tea House serves tea, coffee, cold beverages, hot lunches, sandwiches, soups and desserts and The Johnny Ward Guest House originally built as a family home in 1863 by William ‘Johnny’ H. Ward but now dating to 1880, is a Bed and Breakfast.

The Vanderhoof Museum is a collection of six historic buildings from Vanderhoof and surrounding area. We are open to the public to learn about Vanderhoof’s history! Stop by the historic (and still operating) OK Cafe for delicious homemade pie and lunch. The Visitor Centre is located in the Board of Trade Building, which was historically used as a community gathering space. Grab some WIFI, brochures, and check out the local art for sale. A large RV parking lot and 1.5km interpretive walking trail are located on site.
Only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver, allow 2 – 3 hours for your visit to Vancouver’s iconic Capilano Suspension Bridge, hanging 450 feet (137m) across and 230 feet (70m) above Capilano River. The park offers more than just the bridge. Its surrounding 27 acres celebrate nature, history and culture in unique and thrilling ways. No more so than with the newest attraction, CLIFFWALK. Cliffwalk hangs for 213m (700ft) and reaches 91m (300ft) high, hugging the granite cliffside and offering a panoramic view of the thriving rainforest and canyon far below. On Treetops Adventure venture from one magnificent old growth Douglas-fir to another on a series of seven elevated suspension bridges, reaching as high as 110 feet (33m), for a squirrel’s eye view of the forest. Guides, signage and interactive exhibits throughout the park help you in your understanding of rainforest ecosystems and their sustainability.
Explore town history with the coming of Alcan’s aluminum smelter in the 1950s, early valley settlement, and Haisla traditional arts and technology. Additional displays feature regional geology, flora, and fauna. The temporary gallery offers changing exhibitions of arts, culture, and history. Visit the Museum Gift Shop for a variety of decorative gifts including aluminum Hoselton sculptures, jewelry, and First Nations design merchandise, local artwork, clothing, and more!
